At the School table on February 19
1. We discussed McLean's Mindfulness Journal from the week, pages 62 and 94.
2. We went over the chapter 35 and 36 questions from Story of the World.
3. We watched this short video about William Wilberforce.
And this trailer for the movie "Amazing Grace"
We also briefly studied both Wilberforce's 1789 Abolition Speech and Frederick Douglass's “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?: An Address Delivered in Rochester, New York, on July 5, 1852”
And then McLean wrote a response complex sentence:
Although Wilberforce didn't support slavery, he fought to abolish slave trade not slavery at first.
A response adjective clause sentence:
Douglas, who escaped slavery, also fought to abolish slavery.
And a response sentence with a participial phrase:
Speaking to the people, Wilberforce communicated his humble opinion.
4. We talked about the next mounts in No Summit Out of Sight, checking out Jordan's routes and talking about his trials during his climbing experience.
