5. Do the N/Adj/V Worksheet and write 3 sentences (about tennis tournament) and circle the nouns, draw a box around the verbs and underline the adjectives in each your own sentences.

6. Write a seven-sentence journal entry in your green journal about your summer.



At the school room table today we:

1. Talked about McLean's "About Me" page

2. Introduced Story of the World, read the first page and a half of Chapter 1, and colored in a map about Charles, Phillip, and Ferdinand.

3. Talked a bit about Don Quixote and the response paragraph format.

4. Discussed likes and dislikes of Hugo Cabret. We watched parts of this video of Brian Selznick describing some of his inspiration for writing the book

and watched a bit of "A Trip to the Moon," discussing the wonder of the birth of cinematography.


5. Chose Wonderstruck over Smile as the next Outside reading book and chose to use the next two weeks to read it. 

6. Reviewed nouns, verbs, and adverbs.
